Omid is a commercial and intellectual property lawyer with a focus on the retail and consumer sectors. He is a key member of Bespoke’s Intellectual Property team and Trade, Transport & Regulatory group. He is also studying towards a Master of Intellectual Property Law at the University of Melbourne.
Omid has experience advising on a vast range of consumer, labelling, importation and other compliance issues. He regularly works with Bespoke’s retail clients’ marketing teams from the outset to provide advertisement clearance advice, including relating to comparative advertising, social media and traditional media. He also enjoys drafting and negotiating distribution and manufacturing agreements (domestic and cross-border), having acted for active wear businesses, cosmetics retailers and leading fashion labels.
Alongside his trade and regulatory work, Omid regularly practises in intellectual property, including trade mark matters (such as applications, clearance advice, preparing submissions to the trade marks offices in Australia and New Zealand, oppositions and infringement matters), managing global trade mark portfolios and advising on copyright infringement matters.
